Our research developing Clear Kit and Clear Assured and implementing Clear Audit at a number of organisations demonstrated a stark lack of confidence and competence amongst recruiters of all types when dealing with diversity.

For many, the whole diversity agenda can feel complicated and fraught with difficulty and confusion because of specific gaps in knowledge in areas such as reasonable adjustments, diversity etiquette and selecting and managing third party suppliers.

 

Many recruiters feel unable to ask for clarification as the rest of the organisation is content to assume their competency in the subject, which is rarely the case. Hence the ‘fear factor’ continues to be one of the biggest barriers to more inclusive recruitment.

  • E-learning: Disability Basics explores the meanings and potential impact of terms like disability, impairment, the social model, equality act 2010 and more, the online course is aimed at all employees at every level to build disability confidence and break down some of the stereotypes and myths which surround disability in the work place.The courses are self-paced for the individual and unit costs are low to help employers embed confidence.
